Presbyterian Disaster Assistance

With Hurricane Harvey devastating South Eastern Texas and with Hurricane Irma’s damage to Florida we encourage individual and churches who wish to reach out to PDA.

PDA has a long been a witness to the healing love of Christ through caring for communities adversely affected by crisis and catastrophic events.

PDA continues to be in touch with presbytery leadership in New Covenant, Mission, and South Louisiana Presbyteries. National Response Teams are being deployed into the affected regions when it is safe to do so.

We will post more information on relief efforts for Hurricane Irma as we receive them.

For more information on how you can give click on the link below –

If your church is talking about planning a mission trip to the affected areas please contact the presbytery office, there may be other individuals or churches who would like to travel with you.  presbynorth@comcast.net or 570-368-3906.

Thank you for your continued support and compassion for those in need.

See what PDA is doing by clicking on the video link.

First: Self-care for volunteers

Second: Ministry of Presence ( It underlines that the most important thing we do when go on a work team in response to disaster is become a “presence” to come along side and support the survivors)

Third: Becoming a hosting center (Plenty of good information for getting involved in disaster response)

This is a 350 year old culturally diverse church in the heart of Jamaica, New York, NY

Point Pleasant Vilage at First Presbyterian Church, Point Pleasant New Jersey

Point Pleasant is a beach town with families who have lived there for generations.  30%  of the congregation sustained damages and  10% are still displaced, yet they stepped forwad to become a hosting center.

PDA Villages provide room and broard for volunteers.
